Giselle Gautreau

Giselle Gautreau is an award-winning professional artist with an active art practice and exhibition history. As an instructor, Ms. Gautreau teaches Visual Art, Studio Art and Portfolio I, II. Ms. Gautreau is a New England native, growing up in both Massachusetts and Vermont. She received her BFA from Maine College of Art and Design and holds a Master’s in Fine Arts in Painting from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Gautreau has received awards and recognition for her work, including a Professional Artist Fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, a Fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and a grant recipient of International Encaustic Artists. Her paintings have been exhibited widely and she has been featured in public, private, and corporate collections.
Ms. Gautreau’s teaching experience is wide-ranging, including The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Brightpoint Community College, as well as encaustic and oil painting workshops. She is a resident artist at McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she keeps her studio and shares her art practice with the community. Outside of teaching and painting, Ms. Gautreau enjoys spending time with her family, including her two college-aged children and her pet cockatiel Kiwi.
