Charles Bodden
Executive Assistant to the Head of School, Front Office Manager
Charles Bodden brings a dynamic blend of leadership experience in operations, recruitment, and organizational development to his current role at The Renaissance School. Raised in Reston, irginia, by immigrant parents from Honduras and Barbados, Mr. Bodden’s multicultural background and strong family values have shaped his approach to leadership and community engagement.
A graduate of South Lakes High School, Mr. Bodden began his college journey at George Mason University before transferring to the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM), where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. During his time at UWM, he explored a career in sports, working with the Milwaukee Mustangs (Arena Football League) in their Marketing and Communications department and completing a sports internship with Milwaukee’s NBC affiliate.
Following graduation, Mr. Bodden transitioned into education and nonprofit leadership, serving as Director of Operations and Development for a K–6 charter school in Minnesota and supporting schools in Minnesota and Colorado through grant-writing consulting. His career then led him to the corporate sector, where he spent a decade at Humana Insurance, Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky. There, he held various talent acquisition roles, eventually serving as Manager for six years. While in Louisville, he also earned a Master of Science in Human Resource Leadership with a minor in Conflict Resolution from Sullivan University. Mr. Bodden continued his career in healthcare after relocating to Carmel, Indiana, joining Indiana University Health as a Talent Acquisition Manager. He later became Director of Talent Acquisition for a hospital system in Charlottesville, Virginia, which led to a four year career in healthcare leadership.
Now at The Renaissance School, Mr. Bodden draws on over 15 years of cross-sector experience to lead initiatives that support organizational growth and foster a thriving school community. Outside of work, Mr. Bodden enjoys sports and reading biographies. A passionate North Carolina Tar Heels fan, he finds joy in spending time with his wife and three children, grilling,
fishing, and walking his two dogs, Hank and Lilo.
